| BORN in Nancy, France, July 25, 1917, during an air raid in which his mother
was killed two days after his birth, Philippe was found and adopted by Mrs.
Edith De Lacy, associated at the time with the Women's Overseas Hospital.
When the war was over she brought Philippe to America with her, and his
beauty attracted artists who sought him as a model for advertisements. He
came to the screen in ''The Riddle Woman" with Geraldine Farrar. One
of his best roles was in "Sarah and Son." Philippe has chestnut
hair and blue eyes. |
