| Allen J. Holubar was born in California in 1889 and ere becoming one of
the screen's leading directors had extensive experience in stock and with
repertoire companies. He was leading man for Cincinnati, Elmira and Philadelphia
stock companies. In 1914 Mr. Holubar joined the Universal forces, playing
the lead in "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea." He then played
in numerous Universal productions, prominent among which were "Heart
Strings," "Sirens of the Sea," "A Soul for Sale,"
"Heart of Humanity," "The Right to Happiness" and "The
Gorgeous Canary." Mr. Holubar has directed some of the screen's most
notable productions and is at present directing Dorothy Phillips, his wife,
for Kaufman Productions. |
