| Jesse L. Lasky, First Vice-President of the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation,
was born in San Francisco and was among the first prospectors from the coast
to reach the Alaskan gold fields at the time of the gold rush. In January,
1914 he formed the Jesse L. Lasky Feature Play Co., and up to the time that
the organization was merged with the Famous Players Film Co., Mr. Lasky
had presented to the public many film stars prominent among whom were Blanche
Sweet, H. B. Warner, House Peters, lna Claire, Fannie Ward and Geraldine
Farrar. He also produced for the screen in association with David Belasco."The
Rose of the Rancho," "The Girl of the Golden West," The Warrens
of Virginia," "The Governor's Lady" and "The Woman." |
